Providing a safe and caring environment
for little ones
from infants through 3-year-olds

The four rooms dedicated to our nursery needs provide a safe and caring environment for the little ones as our caregivers share Jesus with them and allow them to experience and express God's love.  A quiet, private room located in our nursery hallway is available for our nursing moms.  A monitor system within the nursery area allows our moms to continue viewing the worship service while they tend to the needs of their little ones.  During our worship services, we use a numerical alert system to notify parent(s) when we need them to return to the nursery area to assist with the care of their child.

We provide nursery care for our regular schedule of services and special services as requested.  Our caregivers each week consist of carefully recruited volunteers and paid staff.

Age-level Sunday School classes
meet Sunday mornings from 8:45-9:45 a.m.

Sunday School is an open door that is consistently accessible to lead children to faith in Jesus Christ.  Children attending Sunday School will find teachers who love them and are deeply committed to nurturing them in their relationship with Jesus.  They will find God's truth at the foundation of all teaching, make new friends, learn how to share Christ through their own life-testimonies, have fun, and grow in Christlikeness.

Age-level connection groups are provided each week for the following age groups:

• 2-year-olds
• 3-year-olds
• Pre-Kindergarten (ages 4 and 5)
• Kindergarten
• 1st and 2nd grades
• 3rd and 4th grades
• 5th and 6th grades

Our quizzing classes for the 2010-2011 school year will begin in September and will continue through the end of April 2011.  We participate in three invitational meets, our zone quiz meet, and those who qualify go on to the District quiz meet.  Two quizzing levels are offered:

• Red Level Quizzing (generally consists of students in grades 1-3 and/or those new to quizzing)
• Blue Level Quizzing (generally consists of students in grades 4-6)

During our time off (May-August),
our students attend their age group Sunday School classes. 

We encourage our children to consider the quizzing program as it allows them to become well acquainted with specific books of the Bible.  They are challenged through Bible memorization, application of Bible truths, and foundationally grounded in the Wesleyan/Holiness theology.  We know that some do not like the competitive side of quizzing.  You are not required to compete in the quiz meets, although it does allow you to really know your stuff and it's a fun way to get to meet other kids from other churches!

Our Children's Worship begins with music and prayer at 10:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall with all children in Pre-K through 6th grades.  At 10:30 a.m. we begin our age-level activities in Mighty Mountain Children's Church and The Connection.

• Mighty Mountain Children's Church is for children in Pre-Kindergarten through 1st grade.  It offers worship centers which include a Bible lesson, prayer, snacks, crafts, and play time.  Our MMCC currently uses Gospel Light's second hour curriculum which helps reinforce the lesson learned in Sunday School that morning.
• The Connection is for children in 2nd through 6th grades.  Scripture reading, prayer, Bible lessons, interactive discussions, game activities, and craft projects are used during this time to engage the children in various forms of worship.  Our curriculum for The Connection comes directly from the biblical texts.

Family Worship Sundays:  The fourth Sunday of each month is Family Worship Sunday.  This is a special time where our children join their families for our regular worship service in the sanctuary at 10:00 a.m.  They generally assist in the service by serving as ushers for the day.  "Just for Kids" bulletins and coloring sheets are provided for the children at the main entrance of the sanctuary.

Special Services:  In the event that we have guest speakers or music groups during our regular worship services that we feel the children would benefit from, we dismiss our regular children's church activities to enable the children to attend these services with their families.  You will find updates on these events in the Sunday Compass.
