We understand that the drastic change may be a lot to handle. Things probably aren’t where they once were. However, the difference between old and new can be summed up in three phrases:
- OneChurch Search
- Tags and Categories
- Permalinks
OneChurch Search
OneChurch Search is no longer a struggle for those that visit the website. As a matter of fact, it’s gotten much easier. There’s a search box on every page in the upper right hand corner. Put as specific or as general of search terms as you like and OCS will find it for you.
Also, on the right hand side of every page is a list of tags, which I’ll discuss in a moment, that you can search with. If you’re not sure what to search for you can use the tags in the “tag cloud” (as it is called) to find your inspiration.
Tags and Categories
Tags and Categories work hand in hand with OneChurch Search and Permalinks.
Think of categories as folders. Let’s say that you want to take a look at all of the website articles about upcoming events. You can take a look at our category called Events using a link (that you can bookmark, too) and see all of it together.

Now, some people may come looking for specific information, say, to show a friend what Women’s Ministries is all about and the events they have coming up. Tags are like labels. All of our ministry descriptions have tags, which allow you to search for a specific tag and find all of the ministry descriptions AND events together.

Permalinks
Permalinks are quicker links that you can use so that you don’t have to go searching extra hard for things. Here are examples of what I’m talking about, don’t be shy and click on the links to try them out:
The nice thing is that if you want to pull up specifically grouped information that would include all events, see the events and ministry descriptions you may use tags and categories to do that.
We hope that you find this information useful and will use the website to its full potential. Enjoy!
