Free Hugs…SEE the LOVE!

Our Kinetic Connection Group believes that one of the ways to show God’s Love is to actually show it.  Enter the concept of FREE HUGS.  Every year we go to the Colorado Springs Balloon Classic and hand out hugs (for free).  Here’s a look at some of the hugs we handed out (special thanks to Marilyn Ryman for taking the pictures).

We plan to expand beyond once a year and we’d love for you to join us.  For more information, contact Ryan Flynt at rflynt@trinitynazarene.net.

Many Hands Quilting Continues to Reach Out!

The Many Hands Quilting Connection Group has been doing an amazing amount of ministry around the world.  Not only have they sent quilts to many countries and even help missionaries teach the art of quilting to young women in mission areas but they are doing good right here in Colorado Springs.

Fostering Hope is a local organization that works with foster parents who have taken in abused and neglected children.  Recently, Many Hands Quilting shared a pattern for a doll that they make. Fostering Hope was extremely interested in using the dolls in their work but there was just one problem.

You see, the mission of Many Hands Quilting has always been that their beautiful creations, including these dolls, would have a Scripture of encouragement for the person receiving it. Fostering Hope works with local authorities and, if the Scripture was on the doll, they may not be cleared to use them.  Many Hands Quilting was asked if they could produce the dolls without the Scripture.

This is a mission that is important to them.  So, they elected to turn down the request.  The Fostering Hope representative asked if they could take the doll to a meeting they were going to have with the local authorities they partner with, just in case they might be interested in them despite the Scripture.

Fostering Hope said the dolls were loved and have requested 50 of them.  Children, in need of comfort, will receive something similar to what you see below:
